Steve is a movie buff, not an expert, but definitely an aficionado. One of his earliest memories is of his grandmother taking him to see Disney's animated classic Pinocchio. As a four-year-old, Steve was mesmerized.

Steve was born in Rhode Island in 1955 and raised Presbyterian. He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1977 and took on the collateral duty of "movie officer" on board his first ship in Guam. That was the year George Lucas's blockbuster Star Wars was released, and Steve was hooked.

In 1986, Steve graduated from Tulane University's Executive MBA program. He met his wife at Washington Community Fellowship in D.C. They have one adult daughter. Steve retired from the Coast Guard in 1997 and embraced the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective. (http://www.mennolink.org/doc/cof/)
