Artist with Schizophrenia
Jerome Lawrence is an artist from Atlanta, Ga. whose watercolors have fetched up to $20,000 in fundraisers for the Carter Center there. Yet he lives daily with the challenges of schizophrenia. In this interview, which aired originally in the Shadow Voices documentary (winner of a “Voice” media award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services), Jerome tells how his artwork helps him live in recovery. He receives a lot of satisfaction from encouraging others who are living with the disease.
Favorite Family Recipes
Chicken Taco Filling
Carmen Wyse created this recipe as a way to use leftover chicken. The veggies called for are what work for her but any can be left out if you don't have them on hand, and others could easily be added or substituted. Try adding hot pepper flakes can if you like hotter dishes.Updates
