Losing a Mother to Suicide – Stephen Akinduro was just nine years old when he lost his mother to suicide. Early on, he found no one willing or able to talk about the nature of her death, or persons who were condemning of her. Finally, through a depression screening, Stephen realized he too was struggling deeply with depression himself, and started therapy. In next week’s Shaping Families program, Stephen tells not only how he coped but offers help to others in a similar situation.
