This Week's Program
Rehab for Mental Illness
What’s it like living with a mental illness? This week Lyn gives us a rare glimpse into her world of dealing with depression, suicide, drug addiction and the stigmas that surround those issues. Too often we talk about mental illness as if there is no hope, Lyn shares a message that “recovery happens”. Her story of struggle as well as recovery is featured this week on Shaping Families.

Believe it or not, what is broadly described as mental illness is all around us. By some estimates, half of all of us will at some time in our lives become dysfunctional because of a mental disease. If you get through life without an episode, be thankful.

When parents divorce, it can be devastating for the children. How do you talk to your children about it? What can you do to make it easier on them? We cover these questions and more next week as we talk with Kirsten who experienced divorce as a child and is a divorced parent herself. Today she writes and leads seminars on this topic to help other families learn about parenting after divorce.
