A Charlie Brown Christmas

 It was the ugliest Christmas tree I had ever seen. Christmas trees didn’t grow in Nebraska. It was before the days of Christmas tree farms where families could engage their fantasy of selecting and cutting their own trees. But that didn’t make the fantasy any less engaging. In fact, it placed the fantasy on a pedestal at least as high as the windmill in front of our house from which we pumped all our water.

Cinnamon Rolls

Emily Ralph says that growing up, her mom made these cinnamon rolls for breakfast every holiday. "I remember waking up on my birthday or Christmas to the warm, yeasty smell of cinnamon rolls in the oven.  Because we only had them on these special occasions, just the smell is enough to convince my spirit (and tummy) that today is a very good day!"  On this week's program, Emily shares a story of one Christmas when her mom made these rolls for their family in a motel room.
